Using this site

The calculators and articles here are free to use for personal and commercial purposes. You do not need an account and there is nothing to pay.

The results are estimates

This is the important part. Every figure these tools produce is an estimate derived from published benchmark data and manufacturer specifications. They are not measurements of your hardware and cannot account for your specific game, driver version, memory speed, cooling, ambient temperature, or background software.

Use them to compare options and to understand the size and direction of a difference. Do not treat them as a guarantee of performance, and do not rely on them as the sole basis for a purchase you cannot return. Where a result matters financially, verify it against independent benchmarks of the specific parts and the specific game.

Power supply sizing in particular

Our PSU calculator is built on real power limits and models transient behaviour, which makes it more careful than most. It is still an estimate. Electrical work carries real risk: an undersized or poor-quality power supply can damage components. Cross-check any recommendation against the manufacturer’s own guidance for your graphics card, and buy from a reputable maker.

Hardware data

Benchmark scores are sourced from published benchmark datasets. Power specifications come from Intel, AMD and NVIDIA published material where available, and are estimated from benchmark scores where not. Estimated values are labelled as such. Data is refreshed periodically and may lag behind a new release. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners, who are not affiliated with this site.

Prices

Any prices shown in the PC builder are indicative figures included to allow one build to be compared against another. They are not live retail prices, not offers, and not kept current. Check the actual price before buying anything.

Liability

This site is provided as it is, without warranty. We are not liable for purchasing decisions made using these tools, for hardware that does not perform as estimated, or for damage arising from a build assembled on the basis of information found here. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
